Eastern Michigan University is celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's legacy this week.
WEMU's Lisa Barry spoke with Ellen Gold, EMU's Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, about what's being done this year.
This year's theme is "Rise Up Against Injustice."
Gold says she believes this is the largest university MLK Day event in the state of Michigan.
She says EMU seeks to be a university that emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and equity and believes that this celebration, that they have been doing for 34 years, helps make them achieve that goal.
