Eastern Michigan University officials say they should have refunds issued to all of their students who paid for meal plans and on-campus housing by the end of the month.
Concerns over the coronavirus forced EMU to move all of its classes online and order students who could leave campus to do so by March 31st.
EMU spokesman Geoff Larcom says several factors are forcing them to calculate each student’s refund individually.
“It varies depending on the meal plan you chose, as well as the dorm or residence hall you lived in. There are varying charges that would pertain to each that have to be taken into account and the proper refund issued based on those variables,” Larcom says.
Larcom says they are giving students the option to receive either a credit for this current semester, or to have it applied to their room and board costs for the fall.
