Today is #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.  Join Arts Alliance’s Deb Polich and WEMU’s David Fair as they consider the model of scarcity: when society under-invests in services and programs needed, and valued, by its people.  Already high, COVID-19 has increased demands for certain services and programs while depleting the banks of shuttered nonprofits.  #GivingTuesdayNow brings awareness to the plight of all nonprofits, including WEMU and The Arts Alliance’s Creative Washtenaw Aid.  Hear it all on this week’s edition of "creative:impact."

TODAY IS #GIVINGTUESDAYNOW AT WEMU

As the coronavirus continues to disrupt lives all across Washtenaw County, Michigan, and the world, the need for timely, factual information has never been more clear.

That’s why WEMU has expanded reporting, adding shifts and staff, to bring you the latest on the coronavirus pandemic here in our community and around the globe.  And we are working hard to answer the most pressing questions you have about how this crisis is affecting you and your neighbors through regular conversations with our public safety, public health, and elected officials.

It’s the news and context you need from the public radio voices you trust.

If you are able, please take a moment now to join in this movement of generosity and unity to support what is essential to you and to our community with a financial gift.  We hope to raise $15,000 on this day of community giving and giving back.

Make your gift to WEMU today by clicking here.
