EMU Is Considering Offering In-Person Summer Classes

EMU

Eastern Michigan University is considering offering in-person summer instruction.

It would apply to a very limited number of late summer courses that start on June 23rd.   EMU spokesperson Geoff Larcom says the university is considering the option for courses where remote operation makes effective instructional delivery and outcomes difficult to achieve successfully.

Geoff Larcom: There would be social distancing. There would be masking. Any of the aspects along that line that are applicable at this time.

The university has not identified which specific courses fall under this new category.  Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, be vetted by departments, and approved by deans.
