COVID-19 Will Be Discussed At Tonight's AAPS Board Of Education Meeting

Ann Arbor Public Schools

COVID-19 will continue to be a main topic of discussion at Wednesday's Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education meeting.

School Board Secretary Jeff Gaynor says the board is expected to discuss steps the district must take to reach an employment agreement with teachers for the fall.  Gaynor says negotiations will be more complicated than usual because the current pandemic makes it difficult to know what type of student instruction will be offered.

Secretary Jeff Gaynor: We won’t know until July what this is going to look like. We’re going to look at the latest data, make sure, if we do open in person, it will be safe.

The district hopes to reach an agreement with teachers by August 31st.
