City Of Ann Arbor Prepares Process To Search For The Next City Administrator

City of Ann Arbor

The City of Ann Arbor is moving forward with its process of hiring a permanent city administrator.

Mayor Christopher Taylor says the city is working with an outside consulting firm to poll city council members on the type of characteristics they want from the permanent city administrator.  The mayor says that, as of now, it’s uncertain if a national search will take place.

Mayor Christopher Taylor: If we conduct a full national search, I would expect that we would identify a permanent city administrator, within the calendar year. When that person came on board, if they were from the outside, it’s uncertain.

The city’s former Chief Financial Officer, Tom Crawford, is currently serving as the interim city administrator.  Crawford replaced Howard Lazarus, who was fired by city council in February without cause.
