Eastern Michigan University has launched a new Master of Public Health program that will address issues related to COVID-19.
The two-year program is designed to train students on how to prevent disease, injury, and promote optimal health. And while EMU already had the program in the works before COVID-19, Public Health Education Professor Joan Cowdery says the pandemic will serve as a learning tool to train individuals who will fill new employment demands created by COVID-19.
Joan Cowdery: And that’s one of the things that we’ve seen in the corporate world is that, all of a sudden, these corporations and these businesses are faced with having to create safety protocols and strategies for their employees, for their customers.
The program is currently being offered online for the fall semester because of the pandemic.
