"Power To The People" Protest To Be Held At U-M On Saturday

Survivors Speak

A Power to the People demonstration will take place Saturday, November 14th in Ann Arbor.

Survivors Speak, along with other community groups, will gather at 1 p.m. at the University of Michigan’s Diag to protest the lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign contesting the general election results in Michigan.  Trische Duckworth is executive director of Survivors Speak.

Trische Duckworth: We just want to stand in solidarity and say we have spoken, and we would like the president to move on. This isn’t about republican or democrat, this is about democracy.

Duckworth says that, during the protest, participants will hear remarks from 12th District Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and Washtenaw County Prosecutor-Elect Eli Savit.  They’re expected to encourage residents to stay involved in local, state, and federal politics beyond the election.
