Former Eastern Michigan University coach Bob Parks has died at the age of 90.
Parks served as EMU’s track and field and cross country coach for 34 years, serving from 1967-2001. EMU’s Director of Athletics Scott Wetherbee says Coach Parks was a legend.
“Bob went to school here. He won 31 MAC titles. He was the MAC coach of the year 22 times. He is the most decorated coach we’ve ever had,” Wetherbee noted.
Wetherbee adds Coach Parks touched thousands of lives at EMU and in the Ypsilanti community and will be greatly missed.
