As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Eastern Michigan University's teachers union is calling on the school to implement tougher measures to keep students and staff safe. We get the details from WEMU's Taylor Pinson.

Representatives from theEastern Michigan University Federation of Teachers are meeting with school officials Tuesday to discuss potential policy changes for the fall semester.
The EMUFT's grievance officer, Jeremy Proulx, says they want the university to do more to inform teachers and students about when someone tests positive for COVID-19.

"You know when positive cases do come up, and to have some system in place for as accurately as possible tracking the contacts of those people who do come up as positive."

Proulx says they also want EMU to make vaccines mandatory and to implement a strict COVID-19 testing system for those who cannot get vaccinated.
