This week, "Art and Soul" is about the art of well being.  89.1 WEMU’s Lisa Barry is joined by Ann Arbor therapist Lori Bush to talk about resiliency and how to develop the skills necessary to navigate the negativity in today’s world.

This week, in the art of well being, the discussion focuses on resiliency, which Bush from "Path to Resilience" in Ann Arbor says you can be born with or learn.

She says resiliency is about hope.  She says it is about how well we respond to stress and dramatic events and is the capacity to successfully manage challenges.

She counsels young adults in Washtenaw County and says they are dealing with a lot of issues, including anxiety and depression and fear of failure.  Bush adds "the only failure is not getting back up again."

She says it's important to keep lines of communication open with family members and suggests, if they are feeling suicidal, to get professional help.
