Vigils Tonight for EMU Student

Two vigils will be held tonight for Eastern Michigan University junior Julia Niswender, who was found dead in her off-campus apartment Tuesday night.

One vigil will be held at 8:30 tonight at the Lakehouse near the Student Center on the Eastern Michigan University campus.  The other will be held at Munson Park in Niswender's hometown of Monroe.

Ypsilanti police are investigating Niswender's death as a "possible homocide".  Preliminary autopsy results were inconclusive and more tests will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe.  Visitation at the funeral home is scheduled for 2p to 8pm Saturday and Noon to 8pm Sunday.   The funeral for Julia Niswender will be held Monday at 11am at Redeemer Fellowship Church in Monroe.
