Kyran Daniel at Trinity House Theatre
MFGS has been presenting contemporary guitar performances and workshops to audiences in Southeast Michigan since 2002. It has been quite a while since we have been able to introduce a new contemporary guitar voice to Southeast Michigan. While new to us, Australian guitarist Kyran Daniel is a seasoned artist in the acoustic guitar world as he toured internationally with guitar legends such as Tommy Emmanuel and Kotaro Oshio when he was just 17 years old! In 2007, Kyran’s debut album ‘Per Se’ (released under his former name, Kieren Murphy) became a highly influential work in the fingerstyle guitar community.
With his illustrious background, Kyran was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he studied under some of the best songwriting & production professors in contemporary music. In 2017, after completing his degree at Berklee, Kyran honed his skillset by focusing on session work, production, and songwriting for some of Australia’s top charting acts. Since 2022, he has returned to his roots as a solo artist and has been on a world tour alongside his mentor Tommy Emmanuel as well as other notable guitarists such as Richard Smith, Jim Kimo West, and Andrea Valeri. Kyran is currently completing a new solo acoustic album due for release in 2024.
We truly feel fortunate to have the opportunity to present Kyran Daniel to MFGS friends as his cinematic soundscapes and jaw-dropping performances present an experience you won’t want to miss.
“I knew at that time he would be an incredible force in music…he was always received with thunderous applause and standing ovations.” Tommy Emmanuel
“Inspired by the technical artistry and influence of Italy, Kyran embraces the guitar techniques of his mentor Tommy Emmanuel to create cinematic soundscapes full of passion, grandeur and mystery.” Melbourne Recital Hall
