Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels is hosting a community tailgate event in collaboration with EMU Athletics and Zingerman's Community of Businesses this Saturday, Oct 25, from 10am-noon at Rynearson Stadium!

Tickets are $35 and include:
- 1 Game Ticket in reserved group seating near the 50-yard line
- Pre-game food stations featuring 5 Zing businesses & non-alcoholic beverages
- Tailgate games to win Zingerman’s prize baskets
- Post-game group photo in the End Zone
- Kids games and crafts

Yourist Studio Gallery hosts The Great Lakes Cup Show, a juried exhibition celebrating the diverse forms, colors, textures, imagery and techniques of Great Lakes ceramics via the cup. You’re invited to join us in our gallery for the Opening Night Reception. On October 24th, from 6:30-8:30 pm, we will celebrate the 40 artists featured in this year’s show and their one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces. The judges will announce “Best in Show” prizes, while gallery goers can vote for their favorite cup in the “Peoples Choice” award! Come enjoy refreshments, mingle with the artists, and toast their cups. All are welcome.

In addition to juried cups, the show will feature works by four invited ceramic artists: Charlotte Grenier, Kenyon Hansen, Tom Phardel, and Brian Westrick.

Join us for a special reception celebrating the vibrant work of mixed media artist Esther Kirshenbaum. Explore her dynamic exhibition, meet the artist, and enjoy an evening of art, conversation, and community.

Kirshenbaum’s new exhibit is animated by the possibilities of curiosity and renewal, of getting back to the mystery of change. In this collection, Kirshenbaum explores the interplay of physical challenges and the unknown of experimentation. She continues to expand her use of materials as she seeks the restorative potential of art-making. The diversity of images and techniques evoke the joy of getting back. Works will include encaustic and acrylic painting, collage and printmaking of abstraction and playful realism.

Theatre NOVA Presents the World Premiere of
DRY SUMMER by Robert Axelrod

Depressed and longing to get his life back on track, gay, Jewish, twenty-something Ethan returns to his Ann Arbor family home. When he takes a job as a “sober companion” to his recovering alcoholic neighbor, an unconventional friendship ensues. Full of Ann Arbor references, this charming and nostalgic play takes us all home. Directed by Brittany Connors.

Ypsilanti Township is holding this completely free event. Please consider joining us for a fun-filled Trunk-or-Treat afternoon on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at the Community Center (2025 E Clark Road). Each child will receive a hot meal from a food truck.

Calling all spooky decorators!
Last year, we had approximately 350-400 kids visit us and this year we are looking for more trunks for them to get treats from. Bring your trunk, your treats, and make this a magical afternoon for the kids!

The Washtenaw Dems Events team has gone all out to bring Ypsi businesses together to partner with us to give families a memorable afternoon at the historic Ypsilanti Freighthouse in Depot Town. Partners include Aubree’s Pizza and Grill, Sidetrack Bar and Grill, and Ypsilanti Food Co-Op, who will provide treats; local artist Amy Balzer-Pemberton, of Clever Creations by Amy, who will do creative activities for kiddos; Sophia and El Kronox will perform and coach in Argentine dance, and will help kiddos make balloon animals; and DJ Nitro, who will bring the music and will emcee. Elected officials are being invited to let down their hair with us and dance! (or not) Come costumed, or as you are, for a fun family event hosted by the WCDP.

Beyond Choir Presents: Eternal Light: Palestrina & Faure

This concert pairs one of the most beloved works of the choral canon—Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem—with a celebration of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, marking the 500th anniversary of his birth. The project highlights Beyond Choir’s commitment to presenting diverse repertoire with historical and artistic depth. Singers will prepare both the lush Romantic harmonies of Fauré and the refined polyphony of Palestrina, requiring a balance of expressive lyricism and clarity of line. This concert experience is designed to elevate and inspire through contrasting choral traditions.

10-piece big band led by Chris Smith, specializing in hot jazz of the 1920s and 30s. Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, Duke Ellington and other jazz legends are prominent in their repertoire. Great for listening or dancing.

Join the American Romanian Festival for an intimate evening of chamber music performed by musicians from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. From Afar: Quartets by Grigoriu, Smetana, and More presents a program where tradition and innovation meet, featuring Ionica Pop’s Impresii din România, a recent work commissioned by the Festival, and Theodor Grigoriu’s evocative On the River Argeș, inspired by Romanian folk melodies and poetic imagery. The concert also includes Ciprian Porumbescu’s beloved Ballad in a new arrangement for string quartet, alongside Bedřich Smetana’s powerful String Quartet in E Minor, “From My Life”—a work that transcends borders with its deeply personal reflections on love, loss, and resilience. Experience music that whispers across time and geography, offering both heartfelt nostalgia and bold expression.
