Skyline High School Theatre presents the teen edition of "Hadestown," a captivating retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Euridyce.
Join Beyond Choir for a moving performance of Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, a masterpiece of choral and orchestral beauty. Inspired by Gregorian chant and infused with lush harmonies, Duruflé’s setting offers a profound sense of peace, reflection, and hope.
Composed in 1947, Requiem is one of Duruflé’s most celebrated works, blending ancient chant melodies with impressionistic harmonies and rich orchestral textures. Unlike the dramatic intensity of other well-known requiem settings, Duruflé’s interpretation is deeply meditative and luminous, offering a message of comfort and rest rather than fear and judgment. His careful integration of Gregorian chant themes with modern harmonies creates a unique and timeless sound that continues to move audiences around the world.
This special performance will feature Dr. Sarah Simko on organ. Dr. Simko is the Associate Organist and Communications Coordinator at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Detroit, as well as Adjunct Faculty Instructor of Organ at Madonna University. A distinguished performer and scholar, she has appeared in recitals at venues such as Methuen Memorial Music Hall, St. Paul’s Cathedral (London, Ontario), and Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor.
In keeping with our commitment to making high-quality choral music accessible, we are offering this concert on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of $10 per person. Seating is limited, so be sure to secure your tickets online today.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the transcendent beauty of Duruflé’s Requiem in an intimate and inspiring setting.

MIOCA is proud to present our Mother's Day Time to Teal Run/Walk in Downtown Ann Arbor on Sunday, May 11, 2025!
Grab your family and friends to join us for our annual Mother's Day Time to Teal 5K and Fun Run! This event is an opportunity for us to gather to celebrate the incredible women in our lives, while raising crucial ovarian cancer awareness in our community.
Both the 5K and one mile Fun Run are walker-friendly!
We are honored to continue the tradition of this race inspired by our co-founder Pam Dahlmann, who lost her mother to ovarian cancer and sought a meaningful way to celebrate her memory on Mother’s Day. Sadly, Geri Fournier, co-founder of MIOCA, whose memory this honors, lost her battle in 2011.
Through this event, we aim to raise vital awareness for this often overlooked and under-researched disease, while honoring those impacted by ovarian cancer. The event continues today to bring together mothers, daughters, family, and friends while supporting the fight against ovarian cancer.
