The Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Regional Chamber says takeout orders will be essential for the survival of restaurants and bars during the next three weeks.
As a result of new COVID-19 restrictions in Michigan, between November 18th and December 8th, indoor dining will not be allowed at restaurants and bars to help prevent the spread of the virus. Andy LaBarre is the executive vice-president of the chamber and says, during that period, many businesses in Washtenaw County could experience a significant financial impact.
Andy LaBarre: If you have a three week pause on some of these restaurants and other businesses around the holidays, I think you’re looking at a least 25% net hit.
LaBarre says, in addition to ordering takeout during the next three weeks, residents can purchase gift cards from local businesses to help them stay open.
