Confirmed Coronavirus Cases In Washtenaw County Rises To 400

CDC

Washtenaw County now has 400 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

That’s an increase of roughly 18 percent from Tuesday.

Washtenaw Health spokespersonSusan Cernigliasays the spike is partly due to more testing sites coming online and working through the backlog of existing test kits.

“They got a bulk chunk of these tests that were ten or so days old, so it doesn’t really represent new diagnoses in terms of when people became ill, but they are new reports of illness,” Cerniglia says.

9,334 cases of COVID-19have been confirmed in Michigan as of April 1.  331 people have died from the disease, including 8 in Washtenaw County.
