Downtown A2 Shopping Districts Working Together To Help Businesses Survive During The Pandemic

Wiki Commons

The Kerrytown, State Street, and Main Street shopping districts in Ann Arbor have joined forces to help local businesses thrive during the pandemic and the holiday season.

The three downtown Ann Arbor shopping districts will host holiday shopping events during the first three Fridays in December.  They include in-store promotions as well as online.  Sandra Andrade is the executive director of the Ann Arbor Main Street Area Association and says many downtown businesses continue to be economically affected by the pandemic.

Sandra Andrade: We’re just strongly encouraging to think twice before shopping Amazon this year and to instead to shop your local businesses for the sake of their survival. It’s been a hard year, and this winter is just going to be harder.

Andrade also encourages residents to participate in the national event Small Business Saturday on November 28th and shop local.  For more information on the December events in Ann Arbor, click here.
