Michigan Medicine officials say they are "amazed" by the amount of support their food and medical supply drive has received so far.
The University of Michigan Health System and Food Gatherers are collecting supplies to help healthcare workers fight the spread of the coronavirus and to provide food assistance to people impacted by the ongoing crisis.
Michigan Medicine spokesperson Kara Gavin says they've already collected thousands of face masks, gloves, respirators… and thank you notes.
"People saying thank you to the staff at Michigan Medicine for taking care of people during this time, so we've actually collected those and put them up on a bulletin board and shared pictures of that, because it's so extraordinary that people are thanking us, and we just want to thank people back," Gavin says.
Gavin says unused and unopened supplies can be dropped off in Ann Arbor at 2800 Plymouth Road, Loading Dock 90, at any time between noon and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
