The first case of the COVID-19 variant originating from South Africa has been confirmed in Michigan's Jackson County. While contact tracing is underway, traditional prevention methods, like wearing masks and distancing, are recommended to help prevent its spread. Meantime, vaccination eligibility has been expanded, and more doses are becoming available.
