New Restrictions Placed On Local Restaurants & Businesses To Help Stop Spread Of Coronavirus

Tim Ellis

New measures designed to help curb the spread of the coronavirus are forcing local restaurants and other businesses to close, or otherwise change their normal operations.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued an executive order Monday closing all bars, movie theaters, gyms and other sports facilities.

The order also bans dine-in customers at restaurants but does permit them to sell food for carry-out or delivery.

Kevin Gudejko is the President and CEO of Mainstreet Restaurant Ventures Group.  He says they’ll have to keep some of their restaurants closed for the time being.

“Steakhouses or seafood restaurants doesn’t really play well in the to go world, so we’re making every investment we can and we’ll have some of our restaurants open, but not all of them,” Gudejko says.

Gudejko says their big focus now is to focus on taking care of their employees and trying to work something out as things continue to develop.
