Recall Effort Against Ann Arbor Councilman To Begins Collecting Signatures On Saturday

Members of the recall effort against Ann Arbor Councilman Jeff Hayner are gathering in Wheeler Park Saturday for the next phase of their campaign.

The group plans to start collecting signatures from registered voters living in Ann Arbor’s first ward this Saturday.

Recall organizer Ariah Schugat says they’re trying to get as many as they can before the July 4th Holiday weekend.

“We have to get about 45-46 a day to hit our goal of 2264 signatures by July 30th,” Schugat says.

If the recall effort reaches its goal, a special election will be held in November for Hayner’s seat.

WEMU reached out to Councilman Hayner for comment but received no response.
