The Ypsilanti Township woman, who was repeatedly punched by a Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputy on Tuesday during an arrest, has been released from jail.
Sha’Teina Grady El was released from the Wayne County jailafter being transferred by Washtenaw County to the Taylor Police Department. She had an outstanding warrant in Taylor for resisting and obstruction from another unrelated incident. Her attorney, William Amadeo, says Grady El has not been charged for the Ypsilanti Township incident.
William Amadeo: If it is decided that the officer should not be prosecuted, I would ask for an FBI investigation.
The Ypsilanti Township incident is being reviewed by theState Attorney General’s Office.
