Science Center Changing Management

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – Starting this summer, the Friends of the Leslie Science Center will begin to take over daily operations of the Ann Arbor facility.
City council has approved a three-year management transition plan that will have the city own the Leslie Science Center, and allow the non-profit group to operate the facility.
Science Center advisory committee member Jim Fry says the arrangement will mean more programs at the center, and expand outreach to other communities as well.
Fry also served on the organization that originally created the Science Center when the Leslie family willed the property to the city back in 1976.
City council is expected to vote on the final partnership agreement in June.
