'Rosie the Riveter' would be proud. The new location for the Yankee Air Museum is a step closer to opening to the public. The site? Rosie's stomping grounds at the historic, former, Willow Run Bomber plant. Jorge Avellan has the details.

The Yankee Air Museum has finished the first phase of its years-long effort to preserve part of the old Willow Run Bomber Plant.  Dennis Norton is the museum's founder and is President of the Michigan Aerospace Foundation. He says when they first assumed control of the structure, it was little more than 2 walls and a roof.

"Our goal was to clean it up, and to build walls and to enclose it, and we've accomplished all of that."

Norton says now that the exterior is complete, they can begin restoring utilities to the structure and start turning the space into a museum.  If all goes as planned, Norton says the museum could open to the public as early as mid 2018.
