As summer approaches, Eastern Michigan University is getting ready to help feed students in need.

The Swoop's Pantry is collecting non-perishable and frozen meat products.  They want to stock up for college students who will not return home for the summer.  Haley Moraniec is the project coordinator for the student pantry.

"There is still a large amount of students on campus, and the majority of our food providers on campus do close for summer. Meal plans aren't accepted during the summer, so that also makes it difficult for students."

Over 900 students use the pantry during the regular school year.
