RIP Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe

Cameron Frye

Local hockey legend Gordie Howe passed away today at the age of 88.

Known as "Mr. Hockey," he played 25 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings and is considered one of the greatest hockey players of all time.

I spoke with Denise Ilitch about his passing.  Ilitch is a businesswoman, University of Michigan regent, and her family owns the Red Wings team.  She has met Howe many times and says she will always remember him as being very kind...

She says she's sure the Red Wings will do all they can to honor Gordie Howe as part of the new hockey arena they are building in Detroit.
