Yard waste pickup in Ann Arbor is changing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Only compost that's been placed in a cart will be picked up as a means to protect workers from being exposed to COVID-19. As a result, only the mechanical arm on solid waste vehicles will be used to pick up the compost. Robert Keller is a spokesperson for the city and says yard waste bags and bundled brush will not be serviced at this time.
"We're offering folks who don't have a cart to be first in line to order a compost cart. And the first cart is free, and we're also right now offering free delivery"
To request a cart, visit the city's website.
