TheAnn Arbor school district is preparing to join all the other districts in Washtenaw County  in offering in-person instruction later this month.  WEMU's Heather Irvine has more on the preparations that are underway.

Ann Arbor schools are preparing for their four-stage hybrid return to in-person learningstarting with the youngest students on March 25th.  A big step forward was this week's staff meetings that took place in school buildings to test technology, become familiar with key strategies, and make ready for students to return to classrooms.

Director of Communications for Ann Arbor Schools Andrew Cluley says a vital component is information.

"Most, if not all, of the elementary schools have already now had their sort of information session to share with the families as they're trying to make their decision whether or not they want to send their kids back for in-person hybrid or whether or not they feel that it's still time to stay as virtual."

Information sessions for students in later stages of the hybrid return will occur as they become finalized.  A phased return of third through twelfth graders begins on April 12th.
