Ann Arbor Public Schools announced Wednesday, February 24, that it will resume a form of in-person learning by the end of March.
The district’s school board has approved a plan to start offering a hybrid online and-in-class learning format to some of its students.
Under the new plan, kindergartners, preschoolers, and small groups of students from 6-12th grade would be able to participate in the hybrid format on March 25th.
AAPS Executive Director Jenna Bacolor says, even with the new hybrid plan, they will still need to limit the number of people in school buildings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“We have a set of key strategies for decreasing the risk of transmission, and they include things that can really only happen if we have fewer students in the building,” Bacolor says.
Additional grades of students are scheduled to return to the hybrid format starting April 5th.
