EMU Board Of Regents Vows To Address Concerns About Sexual Assault On Campus

Eastern Michigan University

Eastern Michigan University’s Board of Regents says it is deeply concerned by recent allegations involving sexual assault on campus.

A lawsuit was filed against EMU last month by 11 women who claim the university mishandled several sexual assault cases between 2015 and 2020.

EMU Regent Eunice Jeffriesaddressed the issue at Thursday’s Board of Regents Meeting.  She says they have hired an independent law firm to investigate the matter.

“We will find out and publicly report any way in which we failed to support students or could have done better,” says Regent Jeffries.

Regent Jeffries says they will also do everything within their power to prevent such crimes from happening in the future and to make survivors feel supported after such a life-altering incident.
