Curbside pickup.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order Monday morning to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.  89.1 WEMU's Jorge Avellan tells us what that means for some local businesses in Washtenaw County.

The Ann Arbor Main Street Area Association says businesses, such as retail stores, will have to close their stores for the time being.  Many may continue to try to push for online sales.  Sandra Andrade is the executive director of the association and says even restaurants that are currently offering curbside pickup may also see a change.

Sandra Andrade: The numbers might go down. I wouldn't be surpised if the people who've been doing curbside pickup is cut now significantly. So it's one of those, like, wait and see kind of thing.

The Ann Arbor Main Street Area Association plans to update its websiteto inform residents which restaurants will continue offering curbside pickup.

The executive order goes into effect at 12:01 am on March 24, 2020, for at least three weeks.  Individuals may only leave their home or place of residence under very limited circumstances, that includes to buy food.
