Issues of the Environment: The intersection of environmental activism and art
Laura Earle is a multimedia artist and uses her skill set to highlight social injustice in ways that create thoughtful paths to change. She is one of four artists featured in an exhibit at the 22 North Gallery in Ypsilanti through June 24th. It's called "Human/Nature." Laura joins WEMU's David Fair to discuss her artistic process in relation to her activism and what the exhibit aspirations are for inspiring individual and systemic changes within the sustainability movement.

Washtenaw United: United Way for Southeastern Michigan expands free tax assistance program
The tax season has arrived, and there are a lot of people in the area that need some assistance in making sure they file accurately and on time. In fact, about 20% of those eligible don’t file taxes and miss out on the valuable credits they are entitled to. The United Way for Southeastern Michigan makes free tax assistance available to those in Washtenaw County earning $67,000 a year or less. WEMU's David Fair talks more about the program with the United Way’s Megan Thibos for this week's "Washtenaw United."

Are you interested in werewolves, Bigfoot, space aliens and other mythical creatures? Then, the upcoming Ypsilanti Cryptid Festival is the place for you! On October 24, the Ypsilanti Freighthouse will welcome all fans of these supernatural beings or "cryptids".
