Issues of the Environment: Ann Arbor evolves program to protect pollinators
In an effort to protect pollinators many communities are pushing a "No Mow May" movement. It essentially asks you allow grass to grow six to 12 inches before cutting it for the first time. The City of Ann Arbor is evolving its effort and is advocating a "Pollinator-Aware Yard Care" education and practice program. Community Sustainability Coordinator Sean Reynolds joined WEMU's David Fair to discuss the distinctions and offer advice on making sure our pollinators flourish.

Washtenaw United: Gloria Llamas - Continuing the fight for workers' rights
Women in leadership positions in unions and the labor movement are still the exception rather than the rule. On WEMU's final Women's History Month edition of "Washtenaw United," David Fair will introduce you to a local woman who is among the exceptions. Gloria Llamas worked her way up to become President of the Communication Workers of America union before her retirement. Today, she remains active in egalitarian efforts to achieve equity among women and workers here in Washtenaw County.
