Cinema Chat: Celebrating the Wolverines' National Championship and previews of special screenings and musical events in Ann Arbor
The Michigan Wolverines are national champions, and the celebrations continue! Almost everyone in the area watched on Monday night as the Michigan men dominated Washington, while over a thousand watched and celebrated at the Michigan Theater! Issues of the Environment: Zerowaste.org's tips for a more sustainable holiday season
We are well into the holiday shopping season now. Analysts predict there will be more spending this year than last, despite all of the economic uncertainty around the country and here at home. There are ways to cut down on spending and to help the environment at the same time. WEMU's David Fair talked with Samuel McMullen from Ann Arbor-based Zerowaste.org about sustainable gift giving on a pre-holiday edition of "Issues of the Environment".

Washtenaw United: United Way for Southeastern Michigan expands free tax assistance program
The tax season has arrived, and there are a lot of people in the area that need some assistance in making sure they file accurately and on time. In fact, about 20% of those eligible don’t file taxes and miss out on the valuable credits they are entitled to. The United Way for Southeastern Michigan makes free tax assistance available to those in Washtenaw County earning $67,000 a year or less. WEMU's David Fair talks more about the program with the United Way’s Megan Thibos for this week's "Washtenaw United."

Ypsilanti mayoral candidate Nicole Brown ready to hit the ground running after primary win
One of the most closely watched races leading up to the primary election was for Ypsilanti mayor. the race featured current mayor Lois Allen-Richardson, former city councilman Anthony Morgan and Mayor Pro-tem Nicole Brown. With nearly 65% of the vote, Brown moved on to the November ballot. She joined WEMU's David Fair to discuss her plans for the upcoming general election.
