Lengthy on-air careers are pretty rare in the radio business.  Here at WEMU, a number of on-air hosts have been on the air entertaining and informing listeners for decades!

Breaking into a career in radio, whether it's commercial or public, takes a lot of work, talent, drive, and a little luck as well.  In this week's "creative:impact," Arts Alliance CEO Deb Polich learns about the personal journey to a career in radio with David Fair, who is celebrating 25 years at WEMU in 2019. 


Arts funding is the focus of a town hall with Washtenaw County candidates Wednesday evening.

On this week's edition of "Cinema Chat"  WEMU's David Fair has a different co-host. While Russ Collins spent the morning toiling elsewhere, Michigan Theater Program Director Amanda Bynum filled in to provide all of the movie information you'll need.

The Great Gatsby  opens in theaters this weekend!  In this week's installment of  Cinema Chat, WEMU's David Fair and  Russ Collins discuss several film options for the weekend and preview the upcoming Cinetopia Film Festival. The conversation began, however, with some sad news out of Hollywood.

Rattlesnakes in Washtenaw County! They're here, and they serve a purpose. Unfortunately their habitat has been threatened, but a project is underway to help. Joining WEMU's David Fair on Issues of the Environment is Steven Parrish, Steven is the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake Habitat Restoration Project Manager and Natural Areas Specialist at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum.  Together, David and Steven discuss  work in Washtenaw County on the Eastern Massasauga Habitat Restoration and Education Project.

      YPSILANTI:  Longtime local Morning Edition host, David Fair, will also serve as news director at 89.1, WEMU, Eastern Michigan University’s public radio station.  News director responsibilities were previously handled by Program Director, Clark Smith, who remains in that position.
