After weeks of speculation it's finally official, Jim Harbaugh is the new University of Michigan football coach.
Harbaugh says coaching Michigan has been his dream since he was a young boy and his dad served as an assistant coach under Bo Schembechler.
He says it's not a turn-around job because the school has a long tradition of greatness. That doesn't mean he's promising victories over rivals Michigan State and Ohio State like he did when he played quarterback. "They're outstanding programs, no I make no guarantees. I made a guarantee a long time ago, and I've learned from that, I've grown," Harbaugh says.
Harbaugh took the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2012 and led the team to the NFC title game in 2011 and 2013.
Michigan will pay Harbaugh $5 million a year plus incentives.
