Most colleges the area shutdown for the holiday break, that complicates things for students who don't go back home. But, that makes it even worse for homeless students.
Twenty-six year old Ramone Williams is a senior at Eastern Michigan University. He lives out of his van and some nights sleeps at the library on campus. But the 24 hour library service operation will stop during the winter break leaving the electronic media and film studies student looking for shelter. Ramone says he would like EMU to leave at least a couple of buildings open 24 hours a day during the break for homeless and international students who don't go home.
Ramone has some student loans to pay for tuition but chooses not to take out more money to avoid getting into debt.
