EMU Holds 3rd Annual SAFE Now Walk To Help Raise Suicide Prevention Awareness

Eastern Michigan University

Eastern Michigan University wants to help raise awareness for suicide prevention.

The university is hosting its third annual Walk for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness Friday, September 27.

The walk is being organized by the campus's suicide prevention program, SAFE Now.

EMU's Dean of Students Ellen Goldsays they want to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and let people know help is out there.

"It deserves the same support as any other illness.  And so, we're hoping more individuals will see that," Gold says.

The walk is taking place on EMU's Campus at the Lake House building and will start at 3:30 p.m.
