Hope Clinic Offering Food Assistance To Patients Recovering From COVID-19

Hope Clinic

The Hope Clinic in Ypsilanti has teamed up with St. Joseph Mercy Health System to provide food to outgoing patients who are recovering from COVID-19.

The Farm at St. Joe’s provides fresh produce while staple items like rice and beans are provided by the Hope Clinic and Food Gatherers.  Emmeline Weinert is the food program manager at the Hope Clinic and says volunteers deliver the food on a weekly basis.

Emmeline Weinert: Once somebody gets enrolled in that program, they can keep getting groceries for six weeks, but that program in general is just probably going to run through mid-summer.

Patients who receive food assistance have to be referred to the Hope Clinic by St. Joe’s hospital.
