The Ann Arbor Farmers Market says having customers wear masks will be essential in keeping the market open.
Stefanie Stauffer is the farmers market manager and says residents who don’t wear masks will be refused entry to the market, unless they have a medical exemption, like trouble breathing. Stauffer says market staff is enforcing the state’s mask executive order by walking around the market to make sure everyone is following the safety guideline.
Stefanie Stauffer: If somebody were to test positive at the market, we would potentially have to shut down temporarily.
Stauffer says the market would have to temporarily close in order to do deep cleaning and to quarantine staff and vendors who may have been exposed to COVID-19.
