The Washtenaw Intermediate School District will launch its Safe Schools Washtenaw campaign drive next week to help its districts prepare for in-person instruction in the fall.
The campaign asks district residents to donate personal protective equipment items, such as masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves for WISD to distribute to all the public schools in the county. Ashley Kryscynski is a spokesperson for WISD and says the district has also teamed up with Toyota to help raise $500,000 to purchase even more cleaning products and PPE equipment.
Ashley Kryscynski: We received a very generous $100,000 grant from Toyota Research and Development to jumpstart the collective buying process for schools across Washtenaw.
Donations can be dropped off at WISD’s South Wagner Road office starting July 20th through July 31st. Monetary donations can be made now on the district’s website.
