1,4 Dioxane Plume Legal Documents Now Available To The Public

Wiki Commons

Members of the public now have access to proposed settlement documents in legal proceedings regarding the 1,4 dioxane plume contamination in Washtenaw County.

A Washtenaw County Trial Court judge has partially lifted a confidentiality order that kept county officials and other parties involved in clean-up negotiations with the polluter, Gelman Sciences, from disclosing information about the legal proceedings.  Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners Chair Jason Morgan reveals part of the proposed clean-up plan.

Commissioner Jason Morgan: Focus on remediating the dioxane to a level of 7.2 parts per billion rather than 85 that is currently in place.

Morgan says the county and other parties involved in the legal proceedings wanted to make the information public because they want public input on the proposed clean-up plan.  To view all the materials that have been disclosed, including videos that explain the proposed settlements, click here.
