City Of Ann Arbor Selects Tom Crawford As The Next City Administrator
Ann Arbor’s current interim city administrator, Tom Crawford, has been offered the job permanently.
City council made the decision during a special session held to discuss the next steps in hiring a new city administrator. Interim City Administrator Tom Crawford has served in the interim position three times during his nearly 16 years of working for the city as the chief financial officer. Council Member Kathy Griswold represents the second ward.
Council Member Kathy Griswold: If we hired someone who wasn’t familiar with Ann Arbor, who wasn’t familiar with our staff, they would probably spend 90 days to six-months to just sort of be in a learning exercise, listening to everyone and with Tom, we don’t need to go through that process.
Once employment negotiations are completed with Crawford, council hopes to approve his contract by October.
