Ann Arbor District Library Closes Due To COVID-19

Wikipedia

The Ann Arbor District Library will be closed during the next two weeks after library staff and family members of library employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Library Director Josie Parker says all branches are being closed because employees throughout the library system have been potentially exposed to COVID-19.  She adds that the library’s online services will continue to be available, but that it’s essential that in-person operations stop during the two-week period.

Josie Parker: What we’ve learned since March is that it’s imperative. If you have potential spread within an organization where you have many people, that it’s imperative to do this.

The Ypsilanti District Library has not reported COVID-19 cases and will continue offering curbside pick-up services.  Meanwhile, as a result of the State of Michigan’s new COVID-19 guidelines on social gatherings and remote working that will be in place during the next three weeks, Washtenaw County will close in-person, non-essential services starting Wednesday.  The City of Ypsilanti will also close its offices, while the City of Ann Arbor is expected to announce its plans soon.
