Christmas Tree Disposal Service Being Offered In Ypsilanti Township

Wiki Commons

Ypsilanti Township provides curbside Christmas tree disposal service to its residents but arrangements must be made ahead of time.

Ypsilanti Township residents should contact Waste Management 48 hours in advance before putting their Christmas trees on the curb for pick-up.  Mike Hoffmeister is the residential service director for the township and says the trees are considered bulk pick-up but will not count as the one-weekly bulk item residents are allowed to place on the curb.

Mike Hoffmeister: Christmas trees that are taller than six-feet must be cut in half, placed next to your cart. The cart is something that the residents normally put out anyway.

Trees will be picked up during normal trash pick-up days.  Ypsilanti Township residents can also take their trees to the township’s compost site located at 2600 East Clark Road.  For more information on the tree disposal program that will be available until the end of March, click here
