Former co-host of Cinema ChatRuss Collins is the former executive director of Marquee Arts, the nonprofit that oversees the Michigan Theater and State Theatre in Ann Arbor. For nearly three decades, he has co-hosted "Cinema Chat" with WEMU news director and Morning Edition host David Fair. He is now enjoying a long-deserved retirement with his wife, former Creative Washtenaw CEO and former host of "creative:impact," Deb Polich.

For more than 30 years on WEMU, Thursdays have meant "Cinema Chat"! After three-plus decades, David Fair is stepping away from WEMU and into retirement, so this will be his last opportunity to talk movies. For 30 of David's 32 years at WEMU, he co-hosted "Cinema Chat" with the former head of the Michigan Theater Foundation and Marquee Arts, Russ Collins. Those two will get together one last time to reflect on their time together and their time with you. -
2025 marks WEMU’s 60th year as a broadcast radio station. We are celebrating throughout the year with a series of conversations with those who have been instrumental in building the foundation and creating public identity for WEMU.
