Ann Arbor Group Training "Pod Leaders" To Help With Virtual Learning During COVID-19

Pod School Prep

A former overnight summer camp director in Ann Arbor has launched a new program that is designed to enhance the virtual learning experience for students during COVID-19.

The program is called Pod School Prep, and it provides training to adults who want to become pod leaders.  A pod is a small group of school-age students who meet in person to work together on virtual learning.  Sarah Kurtz McKinnon is the founder of the program and explains the training.

Sarah Kurtz McKinnon: Pod School Prep will be able to teach them kind of the social, emotional, safety and then academic support function that they need to kind of be an assistant to the present teacher, to the virtual teacher. And then to assist the families and the students with their other needs.

Kurtz McKinnon said she launched the program after hearing many working parents say they need someone to help their children with schoolwork during the pandemic.  For more information about Pod School Prep, click here
