Former Republican Governor William Milliken is formally endorsing Democratic State Representative Gretchen Driskell.

52nd District State Representative Gretchen Driskell has received the endorsement of former Michigan Governor William Milliken in her bid for a congressional seat.  Driskell is a Democrat from Saline.  Milliken was the state's longest serving Governor and did so as a Republican from 1969 to 1983.  Driskell says both she and Milliken value being able to work across party lines.

"It's a great honor to have his endorsement. It's a very positive thing because it really reflects, you know, my values are very similar [for example] my approach to of how to lead to good policy."

Driskell is running against incumbent Republican Congressman Tim Walberg for the 7th District U.S. House seat.
