Historic preservation architect and advocate Ilene Tyler has an answer. The Michigan Historic Preservation Association does too, as it honors Ilene and her Ann Arbor Old Fourth Ward Association colleagues with the 2024 Community Award for historic preservation activities that promote and protect the neighborhood. 3D concrete printing is process where a computer instructs a machine where to squeeze out layer, upon layer of concrete until a framed building is constructed. At the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, researchers have developed an improved design that can make the concrete structure stronger and allow for more creative designs.
